According to him, “Many have asked why we are having two convocations in one calendar year. Let me explain. This is part of the strategic innovations and re-organisation approved by our Governing Council. Management recommended, and Council graciously approved, that we bring our convocation closer to the time our students actually conclude their studies.

“This is in the best interest of our students. It enables them to proceed promptly for the mandatory National Youth Service, meet deadlines for admission into foreign universities, and ensures that they are physically present to celebrate their own graduation, rather than returning long after they have been inducted into their professional bodies.”

He paid tributes to the dedicated staff of the institution who have ensured a stable calendar, “We are grateful to God, to our dedicated staff, our supportive parents and guardians, and our hardworking students who have made our stable and predictable academic calendar possible.”

The Vice Chancellor added that the institution’s Senate also approved the restructuring of academic units to better serve students and their parents. The institution now has faculties: viz Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Nursing Sciences, and Faculty of National and Applied Sciences.

In reiterating the determination of the institution to reward hard work and dedication to research, teaching and study, he revealed what he called “A major milestone in our institutional growth” with the institution having its first homegrown Professor.

He announced that the Governing Council has approved the elevation of Modupeade Christiana Adetunji (Mrs), an Associate Professor to the full rank of Professor. With her elevation she becomes the institution’s first professor of Food Microbiology and Mycotoxicology.

The Vice Chancellor restated the institution’s commitment to quality, staff development and academic maturity. He added that entrepreneurship and employability of their products are assured by making skills acquisition compulsory for all students alongside their core programmes as part of the core ideals of the founders.
