A 35-year-old woman, Onyinyech Ndubuisi, was on Thursday docked in before Chief Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja for allegedly threatening to kill her husband.
The police charged Ndubuisi with criminal intimidation.
The Prosecution Counsel, Catherine Okafor, told the Court that, the defendant’s husband, Okereke, reported the matter at the Karmo Police station on, July 6.
Okafor informed the court that the defendant threatened to kill her husband and also burn their house down.
During investigation, the police said the defendant admitted making the threats.
The offence, the police said, contravened the provisions of Section 378 of the Penal Code Law.
Magistrate M. A Saddeeq admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum.
Sadeeq ordered that the surety must be a reasonable person and must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the matter until Aug. 24 for hearing.
