Mr Richard Olomofe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has lauded Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for strengthening the party’s electoral fortunes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Olomofe, a House of Representatives aspirant for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, made the remark on Friday during a ward tour in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area.
He said the APC structure in the state remained united and supportive of both the governor and President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in a landslide victory in 2027.
He attributed the party’s cohesion to Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, noting that it has positioned the APC to secure overwhelming support for the President.
According to him, Tinubu’s economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange system, are bold steps toward ensuring long-term economic stability.
“The decision to remove fuel subsidy by President Tinubu was not for immediate political gains but for the enduring survival of Nigeria’s economy,” he said.
Olomofe commended ongoing grassroots mobilisation efforts, describing them as crucial to enhancing public understanding of government policies and strengthening party structures.
He said the palliatives distributed during the tour were intended to ease the impact of current economic challenges.
The aspirant attributed rising fuel prices partly to global energy disruptions, including tensions in the Middle East affecting oil supply.
He urged citizens to remain patient, expressing optimism that ongoing infrastructural projects and economic reforms by the Tinubu administration would yield positive results.
Olomofe also called for unity within the APC, advocating consensus-building and the emergence of credible candidates ahead of future elections.
Speaking on his aspiration, he expressed confidence in securing the party’s ticket and reaffirmed his commitment to democratic principles and party unity.
He noted that Irekari Local Council Development Area (LCDA) deserved greater political inclusion, adding that the area had yet to be represented in the House of Representatives.
The ward tour ended with calls for sustained mobilisation and unity within the APC to strengthen support for President Tinubu and the party’s electoral goals
