Four docked for allegedly stealing raw materials worth N5m

 

The Police in Lagos on Thursday, dragged four defendants before an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing raw material from a company worth five million naira.

The defendants comprising two male and two female include: Mohammed Ibrahim, 34; Taiwo Ogunsanya, 40; Abiola Adebayo, 37; and Blessing Chukwu, 40.

They are standing trial on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing, and conduct likely to breach peace.

The defendants, however, each pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP. Aminu. Isaac, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Dec. 25, 2025, at PZ Cusson company in Ikorodu.

He alleged that the defendants, the first and second defendants (Ibrahim and Ogunsanya), conspired to steal raw petroleum jelly belonging to the company, valued five million naira.

He also alleged that the third and fourth defendants (Adebayo and Chukwu) on the same date, received the stolen products and promo items from the first and second defendants.

The offences contravene the provisions of sections 168(d),  287, 328, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr B.A. Sonuga, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Feb. 5, for mention.
