The Police on Tuesday arraigned a 36-year-old man, in Badagry Chief Magistrates’Court, Lagos over alleged assault charge.
The defendant whose address is a unknown, is being charged with assault.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charge.
The prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo told the Court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 28, at about 10.00.p.m at Falola Area, Seme Border, Badagry, Lagos.
Ekpo alleged that the defendant assaulted one Fatai Lewenu, the complainant by using sharp object to stab him on the head.
The defendant was arrested and handed over to Police for prosecution.
“The offence contravened Section 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015,” he said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum N50,000 with two sureties in the like sum.
He ruled that one of the sureties must be a community leader, and adjourned the case until Jan. 28, for mention.
