Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, has celebrated its first-ever graduate to attain a flawless 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
The remarkable milestone was achieved by Lotechukwu Isioma Ikpo, who was honoured as the Best Graduating Student at the institution’s 25th Convocation Ceremony, held on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
In a post on its official Facebook page, the university described Ikpo’s academic journey as one defined by resilience, discipline, and inspiration.
“At our 25th Convocation Ceremony, one name lit up the hall — Lotechukwu Isioma Ikpo! Declared the Best Graduating Student, she made history as the first-ever graduate with a perfect 5.0/5.0 CGPA at Bowen University!” the post read.
The university noted that Ikpo’s outstanding success was especially inspiring, given the personal challenges she faced during her studies.
“Her journey began with the Advanced Level Programme and wasn’t easy. After losing her father in her second year, Lotechukwu turned her grief into fuel for success,” the post added.
Her moment of triumph was emotional as she received several awards, including a fully funded Master’s scholarship.
“With tears of joy, she walked the stage multiple times, collecting countless awards, including a fully funded Master’s scholarship! Her story shows that with passion and perseverance, there are no limits to what we can achieve. We’re proud to be part of her journey,” the university stated.
Bowen University also used the occasion to encourage other students to pursue excellence and write their own “limitless stories.”
The faith-based institution, owned by the Nigerian Baptist Convention, continues to uphold its commitment to nurturing excellence and inspiring future leaders.
