Nasarawa Speaker mourns Ewuga, describe him as true patriot

The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has expressed deep shock over the demise of former Minister of State for FCT, Sen. Solomon Ewuga.

The Speaker in a statement by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna in Lafia on Wednesday described the death of Ewuga as a big blow and colossal loss to the state and Nigeria at large.

He said that the death of the former Senator representing Nasarawa North was one death too many to bear for Eggon Nation and the entire state.

“An Iroko tree has fallen, a philanthropist and an outstanding politician has gone  to rest, may God Almighty be pleased with his soul,” the speaker said.

Jatau described Ewuga as a bridge builder who has touched many lives positively,

“He championed the cause of peace, unity and development in the society and has made great impact and contributions in both politics and other aspects of humanity,” he said.

The speaker eulogised the late   Ewuga prayed to God to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with paradise.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ewuga, a former Deputy Governor in the state died on Tuesday at the age of 70 after illness.
