The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail of N100 million to Jude Okoye, the former manager of the popular hip-hop group P-Square, following his arraignment on charges of money laundering.

Justice Alexander Owoeye issued the ruling on Monday, February 3, 2025, requiring Okoye to provide two sureties, each matching the bail amount.  One of the sureties must possess a property deed.

The judge also imposed a travel restriction preventing him from leaving the country.

Okoye, the elder brother of P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye, was arraigned last Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He faces allegations related to the laundering of substantial sums, including N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.

Alongside Okoye, his company, Northside Music Limited, is implicated in the case, facing seven charges brought by the EFCC.

The commission claimed that Okoye and Northside Music directly acquired a property at No. 5 Tony Eromosele Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, in 2022. Valued at ₦850 million, the purchase is alleged to have been made with funds that Okoye knew, or should have reasonably known, were proceeds from illegal activities.
