Security guard jailed six months for stealing iron windows

 A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Jos, Plateau State, on Tuesday, sentenced a 35-year-old security guard, Daniel Morris to six months in imprisonment for stealing three iron windows.

The convict pleaded guilty to the two count -charge of breach of trust and stealing.

Magistrate Tapmwa Gotep, after listening to Moris guilty plea, sentenced him to six months with an option of N50,000 fine.

She said the judgment would serve as deterrent to those who would want to indulge in such illegal acts.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Daniel Longwal told the court that the case was reported on Feb.12, at the Anglo-Jos Police station by Abdul Omogbi, the complainant.

Longwal said that the convict, who was employed as a security guard in the house stole the gate but was intercepted by Police Officers on his way.

He said the convict committed the offence punishable under the provisions of the Plateau Penal Code Law.
