Africa’s first Nobel laureate in Literature Prof Wole Soyinka is to deliver The Punch Newspapers’ 50th anniversary lecture on February 29, 2024.
The lecture which is to be held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, is expected to attract a bevy of society leaders and captains of industry as well as intellectuals. According to the organisers, the lecture is expected to dwell on national issues. It is to begin at 11 am. The lecture is part of the series of activities lined up by the newspaper house to mark its establishment fifty years ago by Chief Olu Aboderin, an accountant and entrepreneur. Other events had been held to mark the milestone which included photo exhibition made of iconic pictures that had been published in the last five decades in the paper.
