A suspected member of a kidnap syndicate terrorizing the people of Ekiti State and its environ has been apprehended in Ora, Ekiti State.
The young man who is in his twenties was apprehended by natives who have been keeping watchful eyes since the tragic killings of two traditional rulers in the Ajoni Local Development Council (LCDA), of Ekiti State.
Abductors struck same day they gunned down the two traditional rulers to abduct school pupils and their teachers in Emure Ekiti, who were later released after paying requested ransom.
Luck ran against the young man who simply identified himself as Tope as indigenes who suspected his strange movement stopped him for questioning.
Tope who is suspected to be member of a kidnap syndicate terrorizing the zone was found with heavy amulet tied around his neck with a load containing food items and other condiments he may be taking to their hideout for cooking.
Tope was taken to the palace of the traditional ruler, the Olora of Ora Ekiti, Oba Peter Daramola Ojo, where the monarch personally grilled him before handing him over to the Police.
The Olora said the apprehension of Tope may not be unconnected with the prayers that the people of Ekiti State have mounted since the sacrilegious killing of the two traditional rulers in the State.
The attacked kings were members of the Security Council formed among the traditional rulers in Ajoni LCDA, in the wake of escalating activities of kidnappers in the zone.
They were attacked in the process of finding traditional solutions to the menace in that axis
