The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has urged Nigerians to support the Police to enable it to protect lives and property in the country.
He made the call at the inauguration of the Nigerian Mobile Police (MOPOL) 10 Squadron office complex, on Wednesday in Bauchi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that MOPOL base was constructed by TIAMIN Rice Limited under its corporate social responsibility project.
Egbetokun said the project was designed with an administrative block, offices, quarter guard and access road, adding that it would motive its personnel.
He urged well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture and support the Police toward enhancing its operations to effectively tackle security challenges in the country.
“As they perform their professional and constitutional function of protection of lives and property of innocent Nigerians,” he said
Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, lauded the gesture, adding that it would impact positively on the people of the state.
According to Mohammed, security is everybody’s business, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to achieve a peaceful society.
Also speaking, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed, the Managing Director of the company, said the project was part of its support to the Police toward building a crime- free society.
