The French President Michael Macron has put a stop to his planned official visit to Nigeria.
He was billed to be on official state visit to Nigeria from October 28, 2026.
However, France in the past few weeks have been embroiled in crisis and protests are growing as youths and others have been marching through the streets and demanding action.
Many public buildings and properties have been touched across the country. Analysists believe the crisis was responsible for the postponement.
President Tinubu since his inauguration in May 2023 has been close to Macron and was always visiting France. This has raised concern in some diplomatic quarters wondering why Nigeria is moving towards France.
