Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has congratulated First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on her birthday, describing her as a woman whose commitment to service had touched families across the country.

The governor, in a statement on Monday, said Tinubu’s public life had been defined by service, compassion and advocacy for women, children and families.

The statement was by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime.

“Today, Anambra State joins millions of Nigerians to celebrate a remarkable woman whose public life has been defined by service,” he said.

The governor recalled Tinubu’s recent official visit to Anambra, during which she flagged off the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East, aimed at tackling child malnutrition.

He also noted that she inaugurated an Information and Communications Technology Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, during the visit.

He said she also joined his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo, to flag off an empowerment programme for 5,000 beneficiaries across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

Soludo described the initiatives as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to improving livelihoods, skills and opportunities for Nigerians.

He said Tinubu had carried the same spirit of service from her years as a senator into her role as first lady through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

According to him, the initiative has provided support to vulnerable Nigerians across regions, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or political affiliation.

“As a distinguished former senator, she brought a strong voice to the National Assembly. She advocated for the welfare of women, children and families and using her legislative platform to advance causes that matter to ordinary people,” Soludo said.

The governor expressed appreciation to the first lady for her interventions in Anambra, saying the people of the state were grateful for her contributions.

He also recalled the title bestowed on her during her visit to the state, describing it as a mark of the affection she had earned among the people.

Soludo wished Tinubu many more years of happiness, good health and fulfilment as she continued to serve the nation.
