Kebbi NUJ mourns Kudu ex-NAN staff

 

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kebbi Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Malam Auwalu Yusuf-Birnin Kudu, Head of Human Resources at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State.

This is contained in a joint statement by the council’s Chairman, Alhaji Bello Abubakar-Sarki, and Secretary, Mr Ismail Adebayo, in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

“Yusuf-Birnin Kudu, aged 57, died after a brief illness at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, on Tuesday. The deceased was a former staff member of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), where he served diligently in various capacities and locations, including Kebbi, Katsina and Adamawa States,” it said.

The statement described Auwalu’s death as a great loss to the journalism profession, saying his contributions, dedication and service to media development were significant and could not be overemphasised.

“The council extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, former colleagues and associates of the deceased. Kebbii NUJ prays Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” the statement added.
