Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) has said it is exploring stronger trade facilitation between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The company is also seeking strategic partnerships with leading Middle Eastern airlines to boost connectivity and commerce.
This is contained in a statement issued by SAHCO’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mrs Vanessa Uansohia, on Monday in Lagos.
SAHCO Managing Director, Mrs Adenike Aboderin, spoke on behalf of the company’s Chairman, Dr Taiwo Afolabi.
He said the initiative would increase passenger traffic, cargo movement and e-commerce activities between both countries.
Afolabi reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening bilateral trade, passenger and cargo handling, and e-commerce partnerships.
He said aviation remained a key driver of economic growth and development.
According to him, SAHCO is dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote seamless travel, efficient cargo movement and increased trade.
He said the company possessed the infrastructure, operational capacity and expertise needed to manage growing passenger and cargo volumes.
Afolabi added that SAHCO was well positioned to meet rising demand for e-commerce logistics services.
“We are strategically positioned to support trade facilitation between Nigeria and the UAE through efficient passenger, baggage and cargo handling services.
“We also have modern infrastructure and a strong commitment to operational excellence. We are open to collaborations that will strengthen connectivity and create value for businesses in both countries,” he said.
Afolabi further stressed SAHCO’s readiness to collaborate with UAE-based airlines and other aviation stakeholders.
He said stronger partnerships would expand trade volumes, improve supply chain efficiency and support economic diversification in both nations.
The UAE delegation was led by Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi during the engagement with SAHCO.
The delegation expressed interest in understanding the company’s operational capabilities and exploring areas of cooperation.
The discussions focused on passenger, baggage and cargo handling, as well as broader trade facilitation opportunities.
Al-Shamsi assured that the UAE Embassy in Nigeria would help foster stronger commercial ties between businesses in both countries.
He said the embassy would serve as a bridge for deeper economic and trade relations between Nigeria and the UAE.
