A businessman, Ibrahim Usman, has approached an Upper Area Court in Mararaba, FCT, seeking full custody of his three children.

Usman told the court that he divorced his wife, Aisha, under the Islamic Sharia Law.

“I have been married to Aisha for eight years now. My wife gets angry very quickly and easily. We quarrel and argue all the time. She does not respect me. I can’t live with her anymore,” he said.

Usman, therefore, prayed the court for an order granting him custody of their three children.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Aisha was not present during proceedings due to ill- health.

The judge, Malam Mohammed Yakubu, adjourned the matter until June 24 for continuation of hearing.
