Uba Sani sets up consensus panel to strengthen APC unity in Kaduna

 

Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State has constituted a high-level Consensus Committee on Party Harmonisation and Aspirants’ Engagement to deepen internal democracy and strengthen unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of forthcoming elections.

The development is contained in a statement on Wednesday in Kaduna by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki.

Maiyaki said the initiative was aimed at promoting cohesion among stakeholders, fostering mutual understanding and ensuring political stability within the party through constructive engagement among aspirants across the state.

He explained that the committee would interface with aspirants, party leaders and other critical stakeholders to facilitate amicable resolutions in constituencies where multiple interests exist.

According to him, the committee will also encourage voluntary withdrawals where necessary in the broader interest of party harmony and electoral success.

“The constitution of this committee reflects the commitment of Gov. Uba Sani to inclusive leadership, internal cohesion and the preservation of unity within the party.”

Maiyaki disclosed that the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, would chair the committee, while the APC State Secretary, Arch. Abubakar Rabiu, would serve as secretary.

Other members of the committee are the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman; Kaduna State APC Chairman, Mr Atiku Sankey; and the Secretary to the State Government, Dr AbdulKadir Muazu Meyere.

Also appointed are the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Sani Kila; Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Dr James Kanyip; Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki; and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Legal Services, Dr Mustapha Musa.
