One of Arise Television’s popular anchor men, Rufai Oseni is to interview controversial lawyer and writer Dele Farotimi on Sunday February 16, 2025.
The programme which is to hold online is part of the popular Falola Interview Series, the brainchild of eminent Professor Toyin Falola of the University of Texas at Austin.
Oseni is widely recognized for his work on Arise TV, where he co-hosts the morning show, delving into topics such as politics, business, sports, and entertainment. His dynamic presence and engaging style have made him a prominent figure in Nigerian media. His influence extends beyond the screen as he actively supports African business startups and entrepreneurs, contributing to the growth of the business ecosystem in the region.
His career in media is marked by his seamless transition across various platforms, starting from JFM Radio to Unique FM and Gold FM. His versatility and expertise have earned him a reputation as a mentor and an influential figure in the industry. Despite his public persona, specific details about his family, including the names of his parents, siblings, and wife, remain private. This aspect of his life is kept away from the limelight, allowing him to maintain a level of personal privacy.
His educational background is impressive and diverse. Oseni studied Animal Anatomy & Physiology at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He further enhanced his knowledge at the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, where he earned a certificate in Entrepreneurship Management in 2018. Additionally, he attended the Institute of Change Management Nigeria, becoming a Change Management Practitioner. His academic pursuits covered various topics, including the PRosci method, Adkar modeling, and understanding human behaviour. He also holds a BSc in Animal Physiology and Reproductive Physiology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, where he was actively involved in extracurricular activities such as serving as the vice president of ANUNSA UNAAB and contributing to writing and radio work.
Farotimi is a like and writer whose recent book Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System indicted the judiciary and some senior lawyers. He was arrested and taken from Lagos State to Ekiti where respected lawyer Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) sued him for defamation. He had been in detention undergoing trial before some traditional rulers in Osun State visited Chief Babalola and pleaded that he should withdraw the case against him.
This will be the first interview to be granted by Farotimi since his release.
