Danfodiyo varsity to graduate 22,932 students on Saturday

 Prof. Lawal Bilbis, the Vice-Chancellor of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), says it will graduate 22,932 students at its combined 38th, 39th, 40th, and 41st convocation ceremony slated for Saturday.

During a press briefing on Monday, Bilbis disclosed that among the graduating students, 296 would be conferred with doctoral degrees, 1,322 with master’s degrees, and 2,670 with post-graduate diplomas across various disciplines.

He also revealed that 18,644 students would  be awarded various bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, and certificates, with 18,217 set to receive bachelor’s degrees and 427 to be conferred with diplomas and certificates.

Highlighting the academic achievements, Bilbis said, “167 students achieved first-class honors, 3,486 secured second-class upper division,  9,573 attained second-class lower division and 15 students graduated with a pass degree in their respective programs.

“However, the remaining 1,199 students are from programmes such as Veterinary Medicine, MBBS, Nursing etc. whose degrees are not classified,” he said.

Furthermore, the vice-chancellor disclosed that the university was in the process of awarding honorary degrees to some distinguished personalities and conferring the title of Professor Emeritus.
