The Board of Sifax Group, owners of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL), has removed its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Basil Agboarumi
This follows an ongoing reorganization in the fledgling handling company by the parent body, Sifax board.
Agboarumi was appointed as substantive head of SAHCOL in September 2018 after he had led in acting capacity for eight months.
He holds a National Diploma in Mass Communication from the Federal Polytechnic, Oko; a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from the Lagos State University; and a certificate in Creative Design and Digital Communication, from the School of Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos.
Agboarumi, joined SAHCOL, then a subsidiary of the Nigerian Airways Limited, as a pioneer staff/head of the Public Affairs Unit.
After the privatisation and subsequent takeover of Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited by the SIFAX Group in 2009, he was appointed the Head of Corporate Communications, with a mandate to spearhead the rebranding of the new Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited.
He was later elevated to the position of general manager in 2014 in charge of Corporate Communications and Information Technology Department, providing leadership for the day-to-day operations of the unit until his appointment as Managing Director
