Trinity University’s VC dies at 65

Prof Charles Korede Ayo, the Vice Chancellor of Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos is dead.

He was 65. His death was confirmed by the Governing Council of the university on Thursday.

In a statement by the Corporate Affairs department, the University said that Prof Ayo passed on in the early hours of Wednesday, August 2, 2023, after a brief illness.

He emphasised that the Vice Chancellor lived a fulfilled Christian and professional life.

He said the late professor lived an impactful life and contributed in no small measure to the success of the university. He prayed that the Lord would keep the family and the University that he left behind.

Prof Ayo was the Vice Chancellor of Covenant University from 2012 to 2016.

He was a professor of Information Technology. He became the pioneer VC of Trinity University in 2019.

The Pro-Chancellor of the University, Pastor Samuel Olatunji while addressing members of the management and staff, on the development commiserated with the family and the university community.

He prayed that the Lord would keep the family and the University that he left behind and advised all in the Trinity University community to take courage and solace in the Lord and build on the legacies the departed Vice Chancellor left behind.
