President Muhammad Buhari has signed the Petroleum Industry Bill(PIB) 2020 into law.
President Buhari assented to the Bill on Monday in Abuja,
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Femi Adesina, special adviser on media and publicity to the president.
Adesina said President Buhari who returned from London last week is working from home for five days in line with the quarantine protocol as required by the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 signed the bill in his determination to fulfill his constitutional duty.
The statement said the ceremonial part of the new legislation will be done on Wednesday, after the days of his mandatory isolation would have been fulfilled.
The Senate passed the Bill on July 15 while the House of Representatives did same on July 16
