Yoruba Nation Protesters Defy Heavy Policy Presence, Protest At Ojota

Yoruba Nation protesters on Saturday stormed the  Gani Fawehinmi Park , Ojota, despite the presence of heavy-armed policemen at the park.

The protesters chanting different songs and flying their flags , said  no going back and they want Oodua Nation.

The large crowd said the suffering is too much and being marginalized that it is time to have a separate nation for the Yoruba ethnic group.

As early as 7 am,  the armed policemen, Op Mesa, Task Fore, Rapid Response Squad and their vehicles were seen at the vicinity of the park.

The protesters arrived at the park at about 11.20 am when the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu was addressing Journalists.

The Commissioner told Journalists that the heavy security presence was to ensure that the protest is no hijacked by hoodlums.

“We are here because we don’t want the rally to be hijacked by hoodlums, we not chasing anybody away,” the CP told Channels Television.
