Pricked by the heinous act of two of his aides, the Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has ordered the sack of his technical assistant on Security, Ogbonnaya Ibiam Junior, aka Terror and the Coordinator of Ubeyi Development Centre, Uche Ibiam.
Junior and Ibiam’s dismissal was not unconnected with the murder of Enyinnaya Ibiam, a worker at the Federal Polytechnic, Uwanna.
Ibiam was killed on Friday when violence broke out during the councillorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at their ward in Uwana, Afikpo North Local Government area of the state.
The duo were said to have played inglorious role in the whole affair.
Umahi announced their sack in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Kenneth Ugbala, released wherein the governor ordered the police to launch an investigation into the murder and not to spare anyone culpable.
It reads: “Governor David Umahi has directed the immediate removal from office and arrest of the Coordinator, Ubeyi Development Centre, Uche Ibiam, and Ibiam Ogbonnaya Junior, Technical Assistant (TA) to the Governor on Security, for alleged involvement in a murder case.”
