Nigerian singer and choreographer , Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, better known as Kaffy, has “strongly” condemned the controversial dance step popularised by Naira Marley.
In ‘Soapy’, one of his recently released songs, the singer is seen demonstrating the dance step, which is done by imitating the act of masturbation.

The ‘Soapy’ dance has gone viral and also been greeted with differing reactions across social media platforms.
In her reaction, the talented songstress, who is prominent for setting the trend on dance steps like ‘Shaku Shaku’ and ‘Zanku’, said she has never seen “a more disgusting and immoral dance like the so-called Soapy.”
“Am sorry but I can’t take this. In the history of Naija dance, I have never seen a more disgusting immoral dance like the so-called Soapy. It should never be encouraged. Am really disappointed,” she posted.
“As dancers we should speak for what is right. We shouldn’t encourage this for the sake of trending especially when it is not even censored from kids. To an adult, it is even offensive. Rubbish!”
