Two suspected ritualists who were alleged to have been killing aged women in Akoko area of Ondo State, clinically remove their breasts and other sensitive organs including private parts for ritual purposes, met their waterloo in Arigidi -Akoko, Ondo State.
The men were said to have been apprehended by some youths at Arigidi Akoko following an attempt to kill another woman in the town where an 80 year-old grandmother was gruesomely murdered last week.
According to an eyewitness, “ritual killings has become very rampant at Arigidi and Ikare Akoko recently.
Five women had been killed gruesomely with their breasts and other private parts removed.
Nemesis however caught up with the men early this morning at Arigidi when a woman raised alarm that a man came into her room in an attemp to kill her. She then ran out calling for help;
Immediately the town organised a search team and caught the two men in a bush at the back of Akoko Anglican grammar school Arigidi Akoko and were taken to the palace of Zaki of Arigidi, Oba Yisa Olanipekun”.
According to the eyewitness, “the crowd at the palace was too much as people wanted to see those behind the scourge of the wicked acts that had made women in Akoko have fear of going out in the nights or early morning for church and mosque for fear of the criminals”
The two men, one from Ilorin, Kwara State, and the other from Oka Akoko have been handed over to security agents in Akoko area to prevent jungle justice on them and for further investigation.
It would be recalled that one iya Dunsi a 50yr old woman and another 80yr old madam Kojusola Mogaji were brutally killed and their breasts clinically removed within an interval of two weeks at Arigidi Akoko, similar incidents had been recorded in Ikare Akoko and Okeagbe-Akoko last year.
