Popular comedienne, Helen Paul, says she was born out of rape.
Paul, who bagged a doctorate degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos on Thursday, wrote a note to her mother on her Instagram page.
âI HELEN PAUL dedicate this to my mum, you gave birth to me out of rape, they told you I wouldnât amount to anything,â she wrote on Friday.
âI grew up hearing from family members; being called a âBastardâ and each time I asked you, you said âOlorun lon wo omo were, Olorun ma wo eâ meaning God watches over the child of a mad person, heâd watch over you).
âMummy I want you to know I love you, I might not buy you Benz now because I donât have a `Pantâ yet but this certificate will amount to something great.
âThey say Fame is nothing but Grace is everything and I pray for grace in everything I do.
âIâm not a Cele member but Late Oshofa gave me the name and everything Late Oshofa said about Helen Paul is coming to pass.
âI dedicate this to every mother, may God make you strong enough to survive and enjoy the fruit of your labour.â
Paul, who is currently a co-presenter on Africa Magic ‘Jara’ came into limelight with her special childish voice on a radio programme “Wetin Dey” on Radio Continental 102.3FM, Lagos.
