Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and state governors held a meeting of the National Economic Council, in Abuja.

Top on the agenda was the proposed N30,000 National Minimum Wage, which has lately generated controversies.

Recall that on Tuesday, following an extra-ordinary meeting of the Federal Executive Council, the Federal Government resolved to present the proposal to the FEC on Thursday (today) for further consultations.

While the Federal Government has agreed in principle to the N30,000, the majority of state governors insist they can’t offer more than N22,500.

Organised Labour, too, is saying that it is either N30,000 or nationwide strike.
