Saraki, Aregbesola Celebrate Osinbajo At 61

The Senate President, Mr Bukola Saraki and Governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola, have sent birthday greetings to the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo who turns 61 today (Thrusday).

In a tweet, Saraki wrote: “Happy Birthday to our Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. I pray that the Almighty continues to give you good health, great wisdom and abundant grace. Amen!”.

Aregbesola, likewise, wrote: “Happy Birthday, Dear Prof Osinbajo, May you continue to be a Blessing to this Nation, Race and the World. May your light continue to soar. May the Lord of Hosts ever remain your Rock. Igba Odun, Odun Kan!”.

Professor Osinbajo who was born on March 8, 1957, spent most of his childhood days in Lagos state, where he had his primary, college and tertiary education.

In 1978, he was awarded a LLB Law degree from the University of Lagos after which he attended the Nigerian Law School attended from 1979–1980.

In 1981, he was awarded a Master of Laws after attending the London School of Economics.

After several years of his career as a lecturer in Law at the Lagos State University, and the legal advice to the then Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Bola Ajibola, he moved into politics.

When the All Progressives Congress (APC) was formed in 2013, Osinbajo was tasked, alongside other notable Nigerians, to design and produce a manifesto for the new political party.

This culminated in the presentation of the “Roadmap to a New Nigeria”, a document published by APC as its manifesto when elected to power.

On 17 December 2014 the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, retired General Muhammadu Buhari, announced Osinbajo as his running mate and vice-presidential candidate for the 2015 general elections.

Osinbajo later became the Vice President of Nigeria after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Buhari as the winner of the elections on March 31, 2015.

He is married to Oludolapo, with whom he has three children.
