Ododo urges Kogi residents to uphold religious tolerance at Ramadan, Lent

 

Gov. Ahmed Ododo of Kogi has urged residents to foster peaceful coexistence and uphold religious tolerance as Muslims and Christians embarked on holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah on Wednesday in Lokoja, Ododo described Ramadan and Lent as periods of spiritual rejuvenation.

The governor urged faithfuls of both religion to strengthen their relationship with God and promote values of compassion, charity, and humility.

Ododo prayed for sustained peace, stability, and development in Kogi and Nigeria.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting freedom of worship and promoting peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.

He urged citizens to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and committed to peace and progress.

He enjoined residents to remain peaceful, extend compassion to the needy, and embody the true essence of Ramadan and Lent through love, kindness, and mutual respect. (NAN)
