A 27-year-old man, Abdulahi Sumaila, on Tuesday, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly receiving stolen phones and a laptop.
Sumaila, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with receiving stolen property.
He pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Kehinde Olarotimi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in August 2025 at the Bodija area of Ibadan.
Olarotimi alleged that Sumaila received one Tecno phone valued at N140,000, an Infinix phone worth N150,000, a Tecno Camon valued at N170,000, and a laptop worth N250,000 from one Muhammodu Gora.
He further said that the defendant knew the items were stolen from their rightful owner, Taiwo Rabiu.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 427 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Feb. 23 for hearing.
