Major stakeholders in Ekiti North Senatorial District have endorsed Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for a second term as governor of the state.

Speaking at an event described as “A Historic Grand Endorsement Rally”, Chief Stephen Adewunmi Abejide, Chairman of the Organising Committee said, the rally was organized to declare unflinching support for the administration of the governor and show their support for him to run for a second term.

The support for the governor is drawn from across the five local government areas that make up the district of Ido/Osi, Ilejemeje, Ikole, Moba, and Oye of the local government. According to Chief Abejide the support for Oyebanji is clear and unequivocal.

He said, “Governor Oyebanji has governed with integrity, with competence, and with compassion. In just over two years in office, his administration has delivered measurable strides in infrastructure renewal, rural development, public service reform, youth empowerment, economic diversification, and human capital investment.

“The Governor’s leadership style has been marked by humility, accessibility, and a genuine listening ear – attributes that resonate with the values we hold dear as Ekiti people. His inclusive approach has brought together a broad coalition of interests, fostering peace and stability while ensuring that governance is felt at the grassroots. From township roads to farm settlements, from school upgrades to healthcare interventions, the impact of his administration is both visible and felt.”

He added that the rally was not a formality but a collective civic expression, an organic and broad-based reaffirmation of the faith of the people of Ekiti North in the leadership of the governor.

Chief Abejide observed that, “It is our considered position, after due consultation and reflection, that the path to sustained development and continuity of good governance lies in his re-election. Our theme – “One Ekiti North! One Voice! One Agenda! BAO Again!!!” – speaks to our unity of purpose. We speak with one voice, beyond party lines, across generations, and across all sectors of society. We do so not out of convenience, but out of conviction that the journey we have begun under BAO must be completed.”

He lauded leaders of the various youth and women’s groups, professionals, artisans, traditional rulers, and civil society actors who contributed to making the rally a reality saying their commitment was a reflection of the values of unity, progress, and principled engagement that define Ekiti as a people.

He averred that the endorsement was for Governor Oyebanji, and his deputy Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Christianah Afuye. He said the decision for the endorsement was based on sentiment, but on sound judgment and factual evaluation of the duo.
