In a significant loss for the tech world, Han Jong-Hee, co-CEO of Samsung Electronics, has died from a heart attack at the age of 63.
The news was confirmed by a spokesperson for the South Korean tech giant on Tuesday, March 24, 2025.
Han joined Samsung in 1988 after earning a bachelorâs degree in electrical engineering from Inha University.
Over the years, he held various key positions within the company, ultimately becoming CEO of Samsung in 2022.
He was instrumental in overseeing Samsungâs consumer electronics and mobile devices divisions and previously led the company’s display operations.
In a heartfelt tribute, Samsung acknowledged Hanâs remarkable 37-year commitment to the company, noting his pivotal role in transforming Samsungâs TV business into a global leader.
The company expressed gratitude for his leadership during challenging times, which significantly contributed to its growth in the competitive tech landscape.
