*Produces 28 first class graduates

Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos State, is to hold its third convocation on Friday, March 21, 2025. At the event, 16 of its first set of Nursing Science programme are to be conferred with their degrees after five years of study.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Clement Kolawole told journalists that the institution was happy to present its first set of Nursing graduates who have been subjected to the nitty gritty of the profession and are ready to take the profession to new heights.
Asked whether he was concerned if the graduates were snatched and allowed to ‘japa’, the Vice Chancellor said he was not moved by such because the institution ensured that it trained its students to meet world standards. He added that if any of the students was able to get an international employment, it would be a plus for the institution and a stamp of approval on its training and curriculum as meeting world standards.
Twenty eight out of 122 students graduated with a First Class, while 65 got Second Class Upper Division, 25 Second Class Lower Division and three others made Third Class.
Sixteen female students made First Class with 12 males in the same category. The overall best student is Farouq Adedolapo Animashaun from the Computer Science Department. He scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.95.
The convocation to be presided over by Sir Samuel Adedoyin of Doyin Investments, would involve the conferment of honourary doctorate degree of Business Administration and Management (D. BAM) on Sir Dipo Ajayi, an architect and President, Architect Registration Council of Nigeria.
Preceding the convocation which holds on Friday is the convocation lecture on Wednesday, March 19. It is to be delivered by Dr Cosmas Maduka, Chairman/President/Chief Executive Officer of Coscharis Group of Companies. The topic of the lecture is ‘Success in not a degree’. Dr Olufemi Oyinsan, a member, the Governing Council of the University is the chairman of the convocation lecture.
On Thursday, March 20, 554 students are to undergo Matriculation ceremony, while the matriculation lecture is to be delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof Adenike T. Oladiji. The topic of her lecture is: ‘The Central Place of University Education in Personal and National Development’. The matriculation of the 554 students shows an increase of 48.70% above the number of students last year.
Prof Kolawole said, “Trinity University has continued to expand its operations, programmes and facilities to ensure that it is in a strong position to meet the ever-increasing demand of our clients. It has recently added skills acquisition in digital literacy and entrepreneur, fashion design, graphic design, photography and videography, hospitality and mixology, addiction science and courier, logistics management to its programmes to give students the opportunity to become entrepreneurs and be job-ready when they graduate.”
Trinity University was licenced in May 2019. It commenced operations with nine pioneering students and has graduated 194 students across its academic programmes in three sets.
