The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Tuesday struck out the bail application of former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello.
According to BBC News Pidgin, Justice Maryanne Anenih rejected the application because it was filed while Bello was yet to be taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The application was filed on November 22, while the anti-graft agency took the former governor into custody on November 26 and arraigned him on November 27.
Bello, 49, is facing several corruption charges before different courts. He is accused of looting a total of N192 billion from Kogi State treasury during his eight years in office.
