Chief Joseph Uzor Dike, who doubles as the Okpala-Uku and Iyasele Onowu of Onuaboh in Ndokwa East local Government Area of Delta State has passed on at 93.

According to family sources, Chief Dike died surrounded by family and loved ones after a brief illness arising from complications due to old age.

He was a retired teacher and served his community in several capacities. He was Chairman of Ndosimili Association, Chairman of the then National Republican Convention (NRC) in the then Ndokwa LGA and guided then Prof. Eric Opia’s gubernatorial campaigns.

He was a teacher for almost 40 years, where he established and was the founding Headmaster of most schools in several communities in the then Mid-West Region. He was very active in politics and was, at various times, a grassroots political leader. He was also the Nigerian Civil War Chief Refugee Officer.

Burial arrangements are to be announced by the family.
