The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) , Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Vice-presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okow, and the pat chairman, Ayu Iyorchia are currently leading a protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja.
The opposition party has been challenging the results announced by the commission declaring the All Progressives Congress(APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president-elect for the presidential election held on February 25, 2023
In the result results announced by the commission Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, Tinubu had total vote of 8, 794, 726 to defeat Atiku Abubakar who polled 6, 984, 520 and Peter Obi of the Labour Party(LP) who got 6, 101, 533 votes.
But Atiku and the PDP has rejected the results declaring Tinubu as president-elect, saying the election was marred with infractions and would challenge it in court.
