President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over the council of state meeting discussing the fuel and cash crises ahead of the general election.
The hybrid meeting which had in attendance Yakubu Gowon , Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Goodluck Jonathan former heads of state, former president Olusegun Obasanjo(joined virtually) and several governors is taking place at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Other participants in attendance are Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives.
Membership of the national council of state comprises the president, vice-president, secretary to the government of the federation, former presidents, former heads of state, former chief justices of Nigeria, senate president, house of representatives speaker, governors of the 36 states of the federation and the attorney-general of the federation.
