A federal high court sitting in Abuja has dismissed the suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) seeking the disqualification presidential candidate of All progressives Congress(APC), Bola Ahamed Tinubu and presidential candidate of Labour  Party, Peter Obi.

In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1016/2022, the PDP had challenged the propriety of the substitution of the running mates for the APC and the Labour Party.

It prayed that the court compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prevent Tinubu and Obi from replacing running mates with Kashi Shettiima and Datta Baba-Ahmed respectively.

Delivering the judgement,  Justice Donatus Okorowo , said PDP lacked merit and was aimed at irritating opponents in the 2023 presidential election.

Justice Okorowo specifically held that the suit filed by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Gordy Uche on behalf of PDP was incompetent and unjustifiable as it disclosed no reasonable cause of action.

Besides, the judge said that PDP failed woefully to disclose any injury it suffered in the substitution of running mates carried out by APC and Labour Party.

Tinubu and Obi had earlier submitted Kabiru Masari and Doyin Okupe ha slaceholders running mate.
