President Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu and his vice presidential candidate Kashim Shettima are about now in a closed-door meeting at the Aso Villa, Abuja.
The delegation, which is made up of others was ushered in to see the President at about 3:00 pm.
The visit is coming about two days after Shettima was presented publicly as Tinubuâs running mate.
The former Borno State Governor, who was at the Villa to see Buhari on Wednesday, told journalists that he âfelt morally boundâ to thank the president personally, before returning with a larger delegation.
On agitations over the Muslim-Muslim ticket by the party, Shettima said the APC ticket was not designed to protect the interests of one faith as there were religious leaders to do that.
He said, âIn Borno, we spent over N1bn naira rebuilding churches destroyed by the Boko Haram insurgency. And this legacy has been continued by Governor Babagana Zulum. We have taken more Christian pilgrims to Jerusalem than some of the Northern states headed by Christians. We have that history of inclusivity, of togetherness.”
It is not clear yet what the details of the meeting is about.
