Speaking at the 19th matriculation ceremony, NIJ provost, Mr. Gbenga  Adefaye restated the commitment of the institutions to provide quality education while adding that the students of the institution graduate on time and don’t experience strikes as being witnessed in other tertiary institutions.

Adefaye said the importance of matriculation ceremony cannot be over emphasized because students are not recognised until they have been matriculated.

He urged the students to  face their studies squarely and shun any act that will jeopardize their stay in the school including cultism, examination malpractice, bullying, sexual harassment etc

The provost explained that the school takes continuous assessment seriously and  as such students should attend classes regularly as 70 per cent attendance is mandatory for students to sit for the examination.

In his concluding remarks, he stressed that NIJ is a fee paying institution and as such students who fail to do so we not be allowed to access the students portal registration .

“Also, remember always that this is a fee-paying institution. You are expected to pay your fees promptly so that you can have a smooth, uninterrupted study.

“If you do not pay your fees, you cannot access the students’ portal for registration at the beginning of the semester. The implication is that you cannot attend classes”.

Thereafter, the registrar of the institution Mrs Patricia Kalesanwo called out all the 309 students and administered the oath of matriculation on them
