Former deptuy senate president, Ibrahim Mantu is dead.
It was learnt that he died in the early hours of Tuesday after a brief illness at a private hospital in the federal capital territory(FCT).
Mantu was elected as the senator representing Plateau central on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in 1999 and was elected senate president in 2000
The former lawmaker is expected to be laid to rest later today according to Islamic rites.
He was aged 74.
