Cavendish University, Uganda has appointed former president of Nigeria as chancellor.
The university announced the appointment on its Twitter page on Monday.
“Welcome aboard @GEJonathan as you take over as the Chancellor of CUU. We look forward to this new era and achieving great things under your leadership. Success begins at Cavendish!” it wrote.

Cavendish is a private university in Uganda that was established in 2008.

The late Kenneth Kaunda, former president of the Republic of Zambia, was the pioneer chancellor, and Benjamin Mkapa, the late president of the United Republic of Tanzania, the second chancellor.
Jonathan is expected to be installed on August 26, 2021, in time to preside over the university’s 10th graduation ceremony which will take place on the same date.
