The Miniset of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has announced that the new national carrier will comment operation by the first quarter of 2022
Sirika stated this on Wednesday while addressing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
He explained that the new carrier is long overdue and will commence operation by early 2022 with possibly cheaper rates.
He added that the new carrier is expected to be viable and is posed to cater to millions of travellers in Nigeria and Africa.
According to the Minister, the postponement of the establishment of the National Carrier was due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
