The Ondo State Election Tribunal sitting in Akure will today deliver judgment in the case between Governor Rotimi Akeredolu , SAN of All Progressives Congress(APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede.
Governor Akeredolu emerged the winner of the October 10 , 2020 gubernatorial election for second term in office, but his rival, Jegede filed a petition asking the tribunal to declare him the winner of the election.
According to Jegede in his petition, Akeredolu, and his Deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa were not validly nominated by the APC.
The Tribunal had earlier announced to deliver the judgment on Wednesday, April 21, but later changed today.
In a notice issued on Monday evening by the Tribunal Secretary, parties involved in the case were informed that the date has been changed to Tuesday.
The notice further said the judgment will be delivered online via ZOOM.
