Atiku Abubakar spokesman, Segun Showunmi has said President  Muhammed Buhari should fix electoral act and afterwards he should pack his bags and go.

Speaking on Thursday when he featured on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily , Sowunmi said the Buhari led-  federal government has failed and created a divided country.

Sowunmi claimed that Nigerians are no longer interested in the promises of Buhari and his friends when they were coming to power, asking that they should forget about running economy and focus to reform the electoral act , deescalate ethnic tension in the country and step down from power if he cannot the job

Sowunmi claimed that Nigerians are no longer interested in the promises Buhari made, asking him to at least reform the electoral act, deescalate ethnic tension in the country or just step down from office.

He said: “If you have been in this country for 20 years, insecurity aside, have you ever seen this country so divided?

“We have completely forgotten about everything President Buhari and his friends promised us when they were coming. We ask them to do three things because they are incapable of doing others. They should forget about running the economy, they don’t know how to do that. They should reform the electoral act so that Nigerians who have to take a decision to get them out can at least be assured that their votes will count. They should manage the rhetorics of all these ethnic militia from wherever they may be coming from to tell them in very clear and firm language, ‘enough is enough’.

“Number three, they should just pack their bags and go. If you cannot do a job or have the capability to manage it, if you are struggling on the job, if you are incapable of explaining to Nigerians what you are doing, you don’t have the empathy to reach out to parents who are looking for their kidnapped kids… it is more honourable to say herein I have tried, thank you, I’m packing my load and I’m going.

“The country got divided so badly because of the nepotistic attitude that they (APC )started with.

“How can anybody be president of Nigeria and allow people to be using ethnic divisions and rhetorics to undermine the country? There is need for us to press the panic button to deescalate the ethnic tension in the country.”

He accused the government of brandishing unfelt accomplishments while failing to take advantage of criticisms.

“There is no way everyone in Nigeria will be feeling this kind of stress if they were doing the right thing. Can you imagine the effrontery with which their party is saying they will be in charge of Nigeria for one million years? They can’t even run their own party, they can’t keep to their own rules. Because I know that if they don’t improve the electoral act, we may probably get to 2023, and these bunch of crooks can come again and tell me that they got 10 million votes from a village that people don’t live in,” he said.
