A Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ekiti State, Chief Ranti Adebisi, (Opomulero), has admonished party leaders in the state to eschew bitterness, embrace love and work in unity towards achieving the lofty objectives the party sets out to achieve, in record time.

Adebisi, who declared this in his new year message to citizens of the state, said the lingering peace efforts by the incumbent governor Kayode Fayemi, should be complemented by selfless response by leaders, to ensure bountiful democratic gains for members and the state indigenes as a whole.

According to him, APC in the state should by now be working hard toward recording another resounding success in the coming elections to ensure developmental continuity

The former Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Commission, Adebisi noted that the state has been politically favoured enough to guarantee the much-needed lee-way that would catapult it into a state of splendour and envy, even in the face of myriad of impeding challenges.

“As we enter into the new year with unthinkable strength and unprecedented economic vigour we never could have anticipated in the face of the harrowing economic challenges of the past year, occasioned by the ravaging effects of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic, I think we should count ourselves lucky that we are here bouncing into the new year, with unwavering hope of a better year 2021.

“The challenges of year 2020 are much, but our governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, bravely dared the situation with needed leadership touch that has today made a state with very little to benefit from federal allocations to be so dtrong,” he said.

Adebisi, who is Chief Executive Officer of RADYSK Ventures Nig Ltd, commended the economy of the state under Governor Fayemi and solicited for support of party elders to ensure the smooth pace of Ekiti State towards total economic emancipation and a friendly environment that will foster development.

According to him, a just society can only be achieved when dissenting groups are ready to bury the past, come together and offer helping hands in the ongoing drive to bequeath a friendly and economically buoyant society.

Quoting William Clay to buttress his position, Adebisi said ‘this is quite a game, politics. There are no permanent friends, only permanent interests.’

He therefore called on all aggrieved members to present a hand of cooperation with the present government, particularly now that the governor is waving the olive branch through prevailing governance across party borders.

“The recent appointments in Ekiti State has shown clearly that Dr Kayode Fayemi has put behind him the past acrimonies that trailed his emergence as governor. It now behooves on all of us to roll up our sleeves and join him in building our state to our taste. At this point, we should forget the past and collaboratively chat a course into our future.

“For the first time in the history of our state, we are having a seating governor who is Chairman of all other governors in Nigeria. A governor that has the ears of the President of our nation. It is a rare privilege I am of the opinion we should use optimally to our advantage. I think we have a chance on our hands that we should not just squander on the altar of petty politicking. If we do, we shall simply be rescuing defeat from the mouth of victory. The chance is here presenting itself a la carte for Ekiti to climb higher in the national political ladder,” Adebisi said.

The APC chieftain commended the people of Ekiti state for a crisis-free yuletide and enjoined them to painstakingly observe the COVID-19 requirements in the new year to ensure a healthy state.

He also urged the governor to step up measures in the area of security through pumping more funds into the sector to ensure that the security arms, particularly, the Amotekun, are well equipped.

This according to him, would stem the rising wave of insecurity in some parts of the state and further shore up Ekiti’s economic prospect
