President of France, Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for COVID-19.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Presidential Elysee Palace on Thursday
“The president tested positive for COVID-19 today,” it said in a statement, adding that he had been tested after the “onset of the first symptoms”.
It said the president took a test “as soon as the first symptoms appeared”.
It added that Macron would isolate himself for seven days.
“He will continue to work and take care of his activities at a distance,” the presidential palace said.
