President Muhammadu Buhari is to address a joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday.
This is coming after he was summoned by the House of Representatives. The address is expected to focus on the security situation across the country.
Dozens of farmers had been killed on their farms in Borno State by Boko Haram.
The House of Representatives had on December 1 summoned the president over the killing of 43 farmers in Zabarmari, a community in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.
In the attack on November 28, 43 rice farmers in Zabarmari were killed.
The victims were buried the following day.
The incident led to many calling on the president to resign or sack service chiefs.
